This Privacy Policy explains how Sohar University ("University", "we", "our") collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information processed through the Alumni Portal ("Portal"). It applies to all registered alumni users who access the Portal at alumni.su.edu.om.

• Academic Information: Degree, faculty/college, major, graduation year, honors.
• Professional Information: Employer, job title, industry, career history, skills.

• Communications: Preferences and content of messages sent via the Portal.

We do not use alumni data for unrelated advertising or sell personal information.

We may share information with the following, under confidentiality and data‑protection obligations:

• University departments (e.g., Alumni Relations, Career Services, Events) to deliver services.
• Trusted service providers (e.g., secure hosting, communications, event tools) strictly for Portal operations.

We do not sell, rent, or trade alumni personal data.

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

We retain personal information for as long as your alumni account is active and as required by University policy and applicable law. We will delete or anonymize data upon verified request unless retention is legally required or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion or anonymization (where permitted).
