Overview

Eng. Adel Al-Hinai is one of the prominent national talents in the energy sector. He graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and further advanced his academic qualifications by earning a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Sohar University.

Early Career & National Contribution

He began his professional career in the projects sector, where he contributed to the implementation of one of Oman’s most significant national projects — the pipeline linking petroleum product networks between Muscat and Sohar for OQ — a strategic initiative in the Sultanate’s energy infrastructure.

Advancement in the Power & Water Sector

Later, he transitioned to the power generation and water desalination sector by joining ACWA Power as an Operations Engineer. There, he gained advanced practical experience in power plant and desalination technologies, enabling him to quickly excel in a demanding operational environment that requires high efficiency and precision.

Leadership Growth & Recognition

Due to his outstanding performance, he was promoted to Shift Supervisor at the second-largest power plant in Oman. Driven by his continuous passion for development, he subsequently joined OQ as a Senior Energy Engineer, leading key initiatives to improve energy consumption efficiency, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance environmental sustainability across the organization.

Return to ACWA Power

In a rare achievement within the sector, Eng. Adel returned to ACWA Power at the age of just 33 to take on the role of Operations Manager — a leadership position responsible for managing a team of more than 30 employees in one of Oman’s most complex and vital operational environments.

Professional Certification

Eng. Adel is also among the few professionals in the Sultanate to hold the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) accreditation from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), reflecting his advanced technical expertise and leadership in the energy field.
