Ibtihaal Al‑Shibliyah—an MBA graduate from Sohar University and Branch Manager at Bank Dhofar—carved her path amid life’s challenges, work commitments, and rigorous study, proving that when ambition meets persistence, there are no limits.
Why Sohar University
I chose Sohar University because it is one of the best academic institutions in the Sultanate in terms of quality, its proximity to my workplace, and because I had always aspired to pursue graduate studies from the start.
Academic Shift & Motivation
Though her academic background was originally in digital media, direct exposure to the banking sector led her to pursue an MBA aligned with her career needs.
I wanted to build a successful career that went beyond just having a job. I knew that management and leadership are skills that can only be acquired through advanced education and practical application.
Career Progression
After completing her bachelor’s degree, Ibtihaal joined Bank Dhofar as a staff supervisor. Within two years of earning her master’s degree, she was promoted to Branch Manager—a rapid and inspiring trajectory.
Challenges & Learning
The biggest challenge at first was adapting to work pressures and integrating into a new environment. But studying business administration helped me a lot in understanding reports, budgets, and managing people.
Achievements
She earned second place among Omani banks in the Certified Bank Manager course organized by the Central Bank of Oman in collaboration with the College of Banking and Financial Studies—recognition of her growing leadership capabilities.
